Meet Bruno Lehoux and Philippe Gray-Lopez, multidisciplinary French artists and surfers.
Inspired by the beauty, intelligence and freedom of dolphins and whales, they created Balea Design, sculptures evoking the gentle yet powerful curves of cetacean tail fins.
Inspired by the majestic, powerful shape of the whale’s fluke, they have created iconic works for over thirty years, including outdoor furniture, monumental sculptures, fountains, custom creations and interior design collections.
They have enabled urban audiences to come face-to-face with the beauty and majesty of a life-size encounter with a large cetacean, a rare experience usually reserved for sailors on the high seas.

We keep abreast of the latest research and are constantly on the lookout for raw materials with the lowest carbon footprint and the least impact on the planet’s resources, giving priority to recycled and reclaimed materials wherever possible.

It is my greatest pleasure to represent Balea Design's remarkable sculptural works beyond Europe, in particular in the Middle East — where I have been so moved by the continued presence of whales, presence that is not only natural but deeply rooted in the region’s identity.
