Born into a well-known family of Emirati fishermen and divers, Ahmed Rashid grew up in Dubai Umm Suqeim between two vast and elemental worlds— the sea and the desert.
These two landscapes shaped his earliest memories and, without him knowing it then, shaped his artistic eye as well: the open horizon of the coast, the deep silence of the dunes, the play of light on water and sand.

Sea and desert — raw, humble, and infinitely beautiful — are the foundation of his work.
Photography entered his life very early. He taught himself — patiently, instinctively.
Over the years, this curiosity transformed into mastery.
Today, he is not only a photographer but also a drone trainer, combining technical skill and artistic intuition to capture perspectives few people ever witness.

His professional life reflects the same sense of duty and resilience that defines his images.
After years of service in the army as helicopter navigator, followed by a career in the maritime police force, he retired but chose to continue serving his country in a different way: through environmental protection.
He now works with the Environment Authorities, protecting local wildlife as well as marine ecosystems and training teams who safeguard the waters he has known since childhood.

His relationship with the sea is not symbolic; it is lived, worked, breathed.
Beneath the surface as a diver, on the surface as a fisherman or jetskier, on the shore, or watching from above through a drone’s eye, he sees movement and meaning where others see only scenery.
The desert where he has a farm remains his second home: quiet, grounded, ancestral.
Teaching him simplicity, patience, and the beauty of minimal things.
This is why the desert appears in his work not as a dramatic landscape, but as something intimate — a place of timeless elegance.
